Baby Wipes aren’t just for those of us with children. There are so many more uses for them than just the obvious so that’s the topic of this Household Hustler Highlight.
First, they’re great for wiping your hands after pumping gas, mopping up small spills in the car, and cooling your sweaty brow after a run. In fact, wipes make ideal travel companions. The next time you take a road trip, pack a small stack of baby wipes in a tightly closed self-sealing sandwich bag and put it in the glove compartment of your car or in your purse or knapsack.
Baby wipes are also great at shining leather pumps and purses. That goes for kids’ white leather shoes, too.
They’re also great at removing makeup. I prefer a more natural way of removing makeup and if that’s the case with you, try using wipes for just removing stubborn makeup such as black eyeliner.
The next time you get a sunburn, reach for the wipes because they can temporarily cool a sunburn.
If you pull a sweater on, only to find it covered in deodorant streaks, give it a once over with a slightly wet baby wipe. The wipe will remove the stain and the piece of clothing will dry quickly.
Did you know that some brands of baby wipes can be laundered and reused as dust cloths and cleaning rags? You’ll probably only want to do this with only “mildly” soiled wipes.
The next time you find a coffee spill on your rug or carpet, try using a baby wipe to blot the stain. It absorbs both the liquid and the stain. Wipes also work well on clothing and upholstered furniture.
Try using wipes to clean your keyboard. Periodically shaking out your computer’s keyboard is a good way to get rid of the dust and debris that accumulates underneath and in between the keys. But that’s just half the job. Use a baby wipe to remove the dirt, dried spills and other stuff that builds up on the keys. Make sure to power down before you wipe the keys.
Use wipes to make lightly scented sachets for your dresser drawers. Just cut baby wipes into squares and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. The squares will keep your dresser smelling fresh and prevent your clothes from taking on a woody scent.
If you have a cat or dog that sheds, rub down your furry friend with a baby wipe to stop shedding fur in its tracks. The wipe’s moisture will attract loose fur and leave your pet smelling fresh. Baby wipes are gentle enough to use on their paws, too.
Finally, baby wipes are great at cleaning bird poop from your car windshield!
